If oil is leaking straight through to the ground is the oil pan seal gone or could the engine block be cracked?

1985 Cadillac Eldarado 4.1 * cylinder 110kIf oil is leaking straight through to the ground is the oil pan seal gone or could the engine block be cracked?
the 4.1 is a bad engine i had one in my fwd fleetwood took it out and put in a 4.9 i had a cracked piston it could be one of your oil cooler lines but knowing which side the leak on and where would helpIf oil is leaking straight through to the ground is the oil pan seal gone or could the engine block be cracked?
Is the oil leaking on the ground after you've parked the car... or while it is running?

Also... how much of a puddle are we talking about?

What kind of oil is it? Motor oil is brown while transmission fluid (oil) is red.

If you're leaking motor oil on the ground after the car is parked... it is coming from the oil pan gasket, oil pan drain plug gasket, valve cover gasket, front main seal, rear main seal, cam shaft seals, or timing belt / chain cover...
check ur drain plug to see where the drain is coming from. u might have to change the gasket, or tighten up the drain filter, or could be coming from the oil filter. also if u cant find it, pressure wash the inside of ur car, then u will be able to check where the leak is coming from, andthe oil wont blend in with the other oils and dirt n stuff under the hood.
not really enough information to be any help. Where is the oil coming out? Check your oil fill tube to be sure it is pushed in to the block good. Look under your car to be sure you don't have a hole in the oil pan.

thin layer in the driveway is probably a rear main seal or pan gasket.
I've never known of a cracked block leaking oil, just antifreeze. It's either the oil pan gasket, or front/rear seal. Could also be from valve cover gaskets, oil pressure sending unit. Need to look while car is running to see where it is leaking from.
I am amazed that you got that far with the Caddy. That was a bad engine year. You will have to have someone put it on a hoist to check things out. Good luck!!!
