My Grand Cherokee's transmission oil pan will not keep a seal, any ideas on what can I do?

I have the 42 RE transmission, I think that it is a clogged vent or something, I have already put on a new pan, new gaskets, and have tried almost every transmission oil additive that would supposedly be a magic fix it. Any ideas on the vent or what else could be wrong? My Grand Cherokee's transmission oil pan will not keep a seal, any ideas on what can I do?
I think the vent theory isn't going to get you far. Silicone shouldn't be needed with a gasket. It is possible (seen it a lot) that you have a tiny crack in the actual transmission case, near the pan. These cracks can be hard to see %26amp; find, and I have seen plenty of seasoned techs chase their tails over problems like yours! You might look for an inexpensive leak detection kit; it comes with dye and a UV light, to see where it's leaking from.My Grand Cherokee's transmission oil pan will not keep a seal, any ideas on what can I do?
Short of dropping the pan again, there's nothing you can do.

No ';magic bullet';.

Next time you drop the pan, take the time to fix the bolt holes in the pan.

Over tightening bolts tends to put dimples in the pan, and the remaining sealing surfaces can't make good contact with the botom of the tranny.

Use a block of wood and ball peen hammer to fix all the warped bolt holes in the pan.

Then, when tightening the bolts after reinstalling the pan, DON'T over tighten them.

They should be pretty snug, NOT tight.
Have you replaced the rear seal of the crank? You should have done this when the pan was dropped. It's a two piece round seal that normally wears 140k+ especially in jeeps. Seal needs to be oiled before install. Then reinstall the pan with clean/oil free surface on the bottom of block. I think you have to drop the front suspension to change seals on Cherokees.
before you put the seal in are you oiling up the seal lip first? if you don,t oil the seal then you will have a dry start up and it will tear up the seal. or are you getting the seal in straight?
Check with NPR '; Car Talk'; those two gentleman no everything about cars. Hope this helps.
try using a caulking compound on the outside to seal it......NEVER put anything inside a tranny except tranny fluid.
silicone .. drop the pan ... put silicone around it .. and slap it back on .... jeep sux .. ive owned a few .
