Just got my craftsman rider back from the shop, replaced oil gasket and seal.No power to go up slight incline.

The engine seems to be running fine but just doesn't have the power tomake it up a slight incline in my yard.Iknow it will never drive my snowthrower now.Just got my craftsman rider back from the shop, replaced oil gasket and seal.No power to go up slight incline.
Can't tell for sure from your post, but if you had it in the shop because of the leaking oil seal, you possibly damaged the engine and have lost compression if you had run it for any length of time without enough oil in it. Just a possibility.Just got my craftsman rider back from the shop, replaced oil gasket and seal.No power to go up slight incline.
This happened to my car. It was just the mixture setting was off. They were trying to run me too ';green';.
How long was it driven with the leaky seals? If at any time it had low oil it couldve damaged the berings ( worst case scenario) . As suggested, what are the drive belts condition? If saturated with oil- itll slip. Try changing the drive belt from the motor first. Another thing you might want to try is adjusting the fuel mix screw- its on the bottom of the carb. Turn it all the way in, then turn it out 1 1/2 turns ( when its off and cold) - start the tractor and turn it out till the motor stumbles, then back till it smooths out.

check to make sure the drive belt didn't get oil on it and causing it to slip
Could be an engine problem or a belt slipping as suggested. Could also be a pulley slipping on a shaft. Pulleys will have something to hold the in place on a shaft (like a keyway or a star shaped pattern that fits the opposite pattern on the shaft the pulley turns). If it is worn the pulley can actually slip on the shaft itself. It may also need to be adjusted.
