The existance of tke seal beach oil company in california?

is there any history of what happened to that company, its president: john a sharon' or mr templeman: secretaryThe existance of tke seal beach oil company in california?
The Seal Beach oil field was discovered in September 1924, when the discovery well “Bryant” 1, Sec. 3, T.5S., R,12W., S. B. B.%26amp;M. was drilled by Shell 011 Company In the North Block area. In February 1927, the Alamitos area was discovered with the drilling of “Naples” 1. This well ( Now operated by Pan Western Petroleum Co,), is in Sec. 3, 1.5 S., R.12W., S. B. B.%26amp;M., and was drilled originally to a depth of 4,757 feet. 1 he well was completed~d bare(oot in the Selo\,er zone (lower Pliocene) at a depth of 4,740 to 4,757 feet. Initially, the well flowed 27.7” API gravity oil at a rate of ,2,279 barrels a day, with no water cut. Underlying zones in the area were discovered with the drilllng and completion of General Petroleum Corp. well “Wasem” 7 in June 1927, and Continental Oil Corp. well “McGrath” 18 in November 1929. “Wasem” 7, presently owned by Mobil Oil Corp., was drilled to a depth of 5,416 feet and produced from the Wasem zone (Pliocene-upper Mloccme), Because minimal oil production resulted frorm this off-structure location, “Wasem” 7 was abandoned the same year.

“McGrath” 18 (presently owned by Marina Pacific( a Chl Co, ) was drilled to a depth of 6,894 feet and completed with slotted liner from 6,048 to 6,894 feet in the McGrath zone (upprv Miocene). Initially, the well produced 578 barrels a day of 27.’Y API gravity oil, with a 29 percent water cut.

Drilling and field development continued in the Alamitos area through the mid-1950s, Production history for the area shows a rapid initial decline, followed by35 years of a gradual decline. Over 31 million barrels of oil have been produced from the area, with almost half of the production in the first 3 years. Today, the Alamitos area is in a mature production stage. Of the 140 wells completed, only 19 are still producing. The average production rate is 229 barrels a day of oil, and 313 Mcf a day of natural gas, The average gas-oil ratio for the Alamitos area is 1,368 cubic feet per stock tank barrel, The average water cut is 74 percent.

Marine Area A new discovery made in 1979, directly west-northwest of the Alamitos area, was designated as the Marine area. In January 1979, Elliot and Ten Eyck drilled well “ET” 1, Sec. 3, T.5S., R.1’2W., S. B. B.%26amp;M., to a depth of 8,700 feet, and completed It In the McGrath zone. Initial production flowed through perforations from 5,614 to 5,634 feet deep, averaging 105 barrels a day of 24° API gravity oil, with a 70 percent water cut. Chw hundred Mcf a day of natural gas was produced. In February through April 1981, Elliot and Ten Eyck drilled well “ET” 6 to a depth of 9,934 feet, and completed the well in the lower McGrath and Ldne zones (upper Miocene), with a 5 1 /2-inch slotted liner from 7,368 to 9,934 feet deep. Production after 30 days was 138 barrels a day of 25” API gravity oil, with a 1 percent water cut. Twenty-one Mcf a day of natural gas was produced. Since 1979, 16 wells have been completed in the Marine area, with 11 still producing, Cumulative production is about 2.5 million barrels of oil and 2,143 MMcf of natural gas.
