Rear Main Oil Seal question?

I have a 2000 Town %26amp; Country minivan. 3.8L v-6

It developed a very large oil leak, which i thought was the Rear Main Oil Seal. But after going to a few forums and talking to Dodge techs.

I think its the Oil Pan.

But now the Large leak has stoped! good right?!

The question is, once the RMOS is leaking does it ever stop?Rear Main Oil Seal question?
I never knew going to forums could diagnose oil leaks on any vehicle ever made. Thats awesome. I'd use a little bit of common sense here and take it to a reputable shop and have it checked by a pro. If the oil leak is not that obvious, then they can add some dye to the oil to determine where it beez leakingsRear Main Oil Seal question?
A Rear main oil seal will not likely just ';stop'; leaking. Even with the use of all those voo-doo stop leak products, it will still leak. Usually it's a crack in the rubber, and nothing but a chunk of goo will seal it up. Get under there and wash off all the oil. Then crank it up and lay under there to see exactly where the leak is. If you drive it around, it'll blow everywhere and you'll never find the real cause. Good luck.
They usually don't heal themselves, but sometimes a leak stop will work. These usually contain a solvent like lacquer thinner ot xylene to make the seal swell. Unfortunately, they make the rest of the seals in contact with crankcase oil swell, also.
wel most of Time when a oil leak stops mean there is no oil left to drip out sorry they do not repair them selves an dmost of time oil pan will leak before seal does
