5.7 l chev oil adapter seal ??? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
5.7 l chev in 4x4 Oil adapter seal question. Replacing this seal. Set came with 2 seals. Both are same diameter. One is round and circular and the other is flat and circular. Which one is for the oil filter adapter????5.7 l chev oil adapter seal ??? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Hmm, just guessing now. Look at or feel where the face of the oil filter will go. See if it is flat or has a groove in it where the oil filter will fit.
Most oil filters has a rubber seal on them. Otherwise, get a Haynes repair manual

My 2005 jeep with a 2.4 engine keeps blowing the oil pump seal?
Check the crankshaft end play in and out I have replaced alot of 2.4 engines in pt cruiser because they had to much end play and was popping out the front seal, chrysler does offer a crank kit if you dont want to buy a short block
What causes both cam cover seals and the oil pressure switch to leak on a 2003 Cadillac CTS?
well your car is too old cause you need to change those seals every 2 years
the main problem is that you dont change your oil when it has to be changed so it gets dirty and will effect your sealWhat causes both cam cover seals and the oil pressure switch to leak on a 2003 Cadillac CTS?
Too much oil will NOT increase the oil pressure. To the contrary, the oil will become aerated from windage splash, resulting in a decrease in pressure. If you have the level so high that you get blue smoke from the tailpipe, that's because the piston rings aren't able to seal properly. Nothing to do with the valves. Valve guides will leak if the seals are shot, or if a drainback hole is plugged. The oil being too full could promote leakage in lower parts of the engine, like the oil pan, or main seals.
High crankcase pressure, due to a faulty or clogged PCV valve could promote leaks from many parts of the engine, although still unlikely to cause an oil sender leak. It's part of their job to handle higher oil pressures than crankcase pressure could ever possibly reach. Most likely just a coincidence if they are at the same time, possibly compounded by poor design. What causes both cam cover seals and the oil pressure switch to leak on a 2003 Cadillac CTS?
Have a leakdown test done on the engine, this is a test done with the sparkplugs removed and each cylinder is pressurized and the amount of leakage is measured. If the leakage is greater than 20% then the engine is worn extremely and pressurizing the oiling system more than it can vent, causing a leak to happen. Could just be bad luck on those cam seals.
Specific to that car I don't know. But the root cause is most likely high presure and that is almost definately TOO MUCH OIL. Almost every time. It could also cause the car to smoke as the extreem presure forces the oil past the valves.makeup tips

Can soy bean oil be used to seal a shake roof????
soy bean oil wont last vary long. You can use pure tung oil that is non toxic but expensive. To find pure tung oil just google tungoil. Can soy bean oil be used to seal a shake roof????
Just about any oil can be used to seal wood temporally, but most are highly flammable so are not used. Go to Home Depot or similar store to see what they have that can be safely used. Cheveron used to mkae a Shingle sealer. If you apply yourself use a hand pressure sprayer and start at one end and work towards a corner to exit, as the inintal application can be slippery and therefor dangerous if you fall off the roof. Can soy bean oil be used to seal a shake roof????
Used linseed oil . We used it works great!
no

Has one one tried permatex form-a-seal 82096 for a oil leak?
to seal a intake leak on the 3.1 or 5.7 engine if anyone has had any luck, just get by untill a proper repair can be doneHas one one tried permatex form-a-seal 82096 for a oil leak?
Hi it may work if you take off part that leaks and use it to make a new gasket. I would not think it would work if you just put it over area that is leaking. But ha,it cheap enough to try.Has one one tried permatex form-a-seal 82096 for a oil leak?
do not know what permatex is.
