Mechanic help. Oil in throttle body... fried rings or gasket seal?

I have a 2001 saturn 1.9 DOHC i recently noticed that it is going through much more oil than it should (there is no leak) also it was idleing really high so i decided to clean out the throtle body to see if it would fix the idle problem and it did. Anyways when i cleaned it it had oil in it!!! so my question is Could my rings be fried (there is no smoke or burning oil smell) or could i just have a gasket seal that needs replace or posibly my valve stem gaskets??? i know a little about cars just not enough to figure this out alone please helpMechanic help. sounds like a lot of blowby in the engine bad rings but first check the pcv valve to make sure it is good if not replace it. but these engines are bad about having a lot of blowbyMechanic help. Oil in throttle body... fried rings or gasket seal?
probably rings are worn, run a thicker oil like 20/50 or some viscosity thickener like STP oil treatment.
The best bet is to do a compression check on your cylinders. That will tell you a lot of what your engine's problem is.
