soy bean oil wont last vary long. You can use pure tung oil that is non toxic but expensive. To find pure tung oil just google tungoil.Can soy bean oil be used to seal a shake roof????
Just about any oil can be used to seal wood temporally, but most are highly flammable so are not used. Go to Home Depot or similar store to see what they have that can be safely used. Cheveron used to mkae a Shingle sealer. If you apply yourself use a hand pressure sprayer and start at one end and work towards a corner to exit, as the inintal application can be slippery and therefor dangerous if you fall off the roof.Can soy bean oil be used to seal a shake roof????
Used linseed oil . We used it works great!
