I have a 95 Camaro and i am loosing oil pressure it's at a 1/4 or less is it my oil pump or rear main seal?

I had the exact same problem, and the first thing you should do is have your oil pressure sending unit checked. There is a known problem with this era of Camaro's where that sending unit goes bad. It is a very cheap and easy fix.





The most important thing to remember here is there are two things that can fry your engine in a heartbeat, lack of oil and excess heat. Keep your oil in good shape and keep your engine running within normal operating temp and you should get well over 200,000 miles out of it.

Is your question the oil pressure on my guage sitting at 1/4 of the guage range or is it sitting at 1/4 of what it used to display? If you are worried about oil pressure and you should be, take out the oil pressure sensor and screw in an actual shop guage and start motor up and measure what the motor is actually producing at idle and at rev. These motors should not produce anymore than 20 psi at idle and 67-70 psi at rev. If the pressure is too low, you can have several problems. Is there enough oil in the motor, filter plugged? If these are okay, I would suspect motor bearing problems/damage or an oil pump that cannot produce enough pressure to push through. You might just have a bad sensor or guage too so that's why you have to be sure to chase the right problem. Possibly Oil Pump, but check oil presure releif valfe and sory but is most likly crankshaf, mane jernal ore big end.
if its not leaking any out on the ground id check the oil sending unit,these things go bad a lot ,and cause low oil pressure readings,but it don't always mean the car isn't getting any oil,believe me you,d know it if it wasn't getting any, id try changing that first,chances are the unit is bad and just giving false readings on it,if that doesn't help it then id be concerned about it,but try changing that ,it may re-store the oil pressure to where it should be ,good luck hope this helps.
valve cover gaskets are a problem on most chevys
check under the car to see where the oil spots (if any) are forming. I'd say the pump isn't likely since it's internal and everything is mechanically driven.
Check to see if you are low on oil. If you are how ong since you checked it? I have an oil pan gasket leak and that causes my level to go down which causes low pressure
