Seal an oil? Don't. Just leave it. After time any sealant will yellow your whites and change your brights. The oil w/in the paint will protect it and make it easy to clean if needed. I know there may be some ';good'; sealants out there... check w/ the brand of paint you use but be cautious. I've restored some old pieces and yuck! The ones that weren't sealed cleaned up beautifully. But remember whatever the painting is done on (canvas, board, etc.) should be of quality or that will deteriorate. you don't seal an oil painting you varnish it you can varnish it with touch up varnish or damar varnish when it dries to the touch but only varnish it with regular varnish when the painting dried throughly that may take up to a year.
